Darth Vader Posts His First Official Selfie on Instagram
Updated by Endah
A great thing happened on Instagram today: Star Wars joined.
Even better? The first thing posted was a selfie of Darth Vader, who is
clearly using the Dark Side to capture his good side (aka his
black-helmeted face).
A full two years ahead of the release of Star Wars: Episode VII, the franchise announced the new Force-enabled Instagram feed in a post today on StarWars.com that simply read “Follow us. It is useless to resist.” It gained nearly 30,000 followers in its first four hours online.
Following the selfie, the Star Wars account posted an image that appears to be from a lightsaber battle between Luke Skywalker and Vader in Star Wars: Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back with the hashtags #BehindTheScenes #Latergram #Vadergram. Let’s hope the Disney marketing folks keep this up – because if there’s one thing mobile photo-sharing needs, it’s some Jabba-grams
